Nick it for Munich
by Aric Hanscomb-Ryrie
A proud recipient of the 2025 Keep it Fringe Bursary-Nick it for Munich is a madcap, heart-filled comedy about chasing big dreams, the lengths people will go to achieve them, and the chaos that ensues when things go horribly wrong.
Jamie is a small-time nobody with nothing but a Scotland top and a big dream—getting to Munich for the opening game of Euro 2024. His parents say no. His bank balance says no. But Jamie? He’s not taking no for an answer.
In a series of wild and hilarious schemes, Jamie tries everything he can to make it to Munich. From scamming his clueless pal to selling his soul to the wildest group of characters in town, Jamie hustles his way across Europe. But when he finally makes it to Munich, his luck takes a nosedive—he loses his tickets, has nowhere to stay, and finds himself in a mess that would make anyone else quit.
But not Jamie.
A fast-paced, riotous tale of blind optimism, outrageous plans, and the unstoppable spirit of a determined dreamer, Nick it for Munich is a celebration of resilience, heart, and the joy of going after something you want—even when it feels impossible.
It’s a must-see for anyone who’s ever had a crazy dream, anyone who’s ever been in way over their head, or anyone who loves a good underdog story.
Will Jamie make it? Will things go right for once? (Spoiler: Probably not.) But one thing’s for sure—it’s going to be a hell of a ride.
