Wally Bug-Breath by Aric Hanscomb-Ryrie 18/12/2024

Aric Hanscomb-Ryrie is back with a brand new script following a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe. Directed by Aydan Macdonald, Dive into the streets of Edinburgh, where new beginnings clash with old ghosts in Wally Bug-Breath. This spirited play follows Californian couple Malcolm and Rachel as they navigate a fresh start in Scotland—alongside an unforgettable cast of characters, from the streetwise Wally Bug-Breath to Malcolm’s rowdy Warhammer pals.

Between laugh-out-loud encounters and haunting revelations, Malcolm and Rachel find that life in Edinburgh may not be the escape they’d envisioned. As they clash with their own pasts and Edinburgh’s unpredictable present, Wally emerges as an unexpected guide, embodying both street wisdom and mystery.

For fans of dark humor, poignant encounters, and the highs and lows of love, Wally Bug-Breath delivers it all, setting a modern story against the cobblestone streets of Scotland's capital. Embrace the raw charm, laugh at the absurdity, and join Malcolm, Rachel, and Wally as they discover what it means to truly start over.

Liminal by Julia Rahn 29/01/2025

Written by Julia Rahn and directed by Shamama Fatima, Liminal is a play about queer love, queer breakups, and battling cosmic forces. It touches on the themes of belonging and explores what it means to share a life with someone you once loved.

As night descends upon the city, ex-girlfriends Mar and Esme pack up their shared life, preparing to head their separate ways. But as tensions rise and memories are recalled, the sun never seems to rise. Something is wrong. The night plays out again. And again. And again.

Set within the intimate confines of a London flat, Rahn’s latest work masterfully combines existential mystery, raw humor, and tender moments. Between laugh-out-loud encounters and haunting revelations, Liminal delivers a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the spaces in between.

For fans of emotionally charged dramas and stories that defy the ordinary, Liminal offers a night of theatre you won’t soon forget

Battery by Zoë Maunder 26/02/2025

Written by Zoë Maunder | Directed by Elsa Booij and Courtney Bassett

BATTERY by Zoë Maunder is an abstract exploration of human nature and relationships.

Inspired by the things that keep us captive—either by our own letting or otherwise— this bold new play draws us into a semi-surreal world where characters inhabit unusual spaces. A statue debates its own existence, A woman searches for love from her teacup home, and human connections are tested in shifting landscapes. Each story asks us to question how our surroundings affect the way we live.

Directed by Elsa Booij and Courtney Bassett, BATTERY is full of wonder and truth, capturing the tension between freedom and confinement. With echoes of existential poetics and raw vulnerability, this experimental piece blurs the lines between the ordinary and the extraordinary, leaving audiences to confront the cages they build and the choices they make within them.

A daring examination of humanity’s yearning for connection and freedom, BATTERY invites you to step into a world as unsettling as it is beautiful. Prepare for a journey that lingers long after the final image fades, evoking the sharp introspection of Samuel Beckett and the surrealism of Caryl Churchill.

The Stag and The Hound by Ben Ramsay 08/04/2025

The Stag and The Hound:

Written by Ben Ramsay | Directed by Gabriel Von-Spreckelsen and Assistant Directed by Mhairi Longwill

Andrew has a perfect life. He has a good job, a great group of friends, a perfect, loyal best friend, and is about to marry the love of his life. He’s woken up after the perfect stag do, ready for a perfect wedding, only...

The best man is missing. His best friend might be a sociopath. And the flat is a mess—stained, wrecked, and reeking of something he doesn’t want to think about.

He can’t remember a ****ing thing.

What happened last night?

A razor-sharp dark comedy with a psychological edge, The Stag and The Hound drags you through the wreckage of a night gone terribly wrong. Twisting between pitch-black humor and creeping dread, this gripping new play from Ben Ramsay will leave you laughing one moment and questioning everything the next.

For fans of The Hangover meets Pinter, with a splash of Irvine Welsh grit, The Stag and The Hound is a chaotic, hilarious, and unsettling dive into friendship, masculinity, and the ugly truths that surface when the drinks stop flowing.
